Workshops
At Yucca Palm, we tailor the design of our workshops to the community we are serving. Most workshop series follow the flow of sessions on mindset, practice and community. Each workshop is designed with multiple entry points to accommodate all of our participants.
Mindset
We begin with Mindset workshops where we work together to understand your community more deeply.
We engage with tools to explore community dynamics through the lens of cultural awareness. We uncover personal values that are shared with others and that align with our organizational priorities. We use tools to develop trauma consciousness around our and our community’s past experiences.
Practice
In our Practice workshops, we roll up our sleeves and begin to collect data on the observations from our Mindset sessions.
As we learn different methods to collect data, we continuously refer back to the reflection tools we developed in our mindset workshops. Using this data, internally, we create a strategic plan to improve procedures and practices in your school. Stakeholders lead idea generation as YPM supports with providing feedback and best practices.
Community
In our Community workshops, we implement the processes and systems your community created. We collect data to measure effectiveness. We return to the drawing board when we notice that the shared values we discovered in our mindset sessions haven’t yet shown up as visible results.

Youth Leadership
Since 2016, Yucca Palm Mutualism has developed youth leaders to embody transformative methods within communities. We believe that the true embodiment of this work is to share its significance with others. Our Youth Ambassadors have demonstrated the passion, empathy and communication style that fosters relatability and understanding.
