Co-creating culture centered in liberation.

Yucca Palm Mutualism is a project dedicated to transforming school culture.

Across the United States, a student’s zipcode, ethnicity, and race can define the quality of education they receive. Schools in low-income neighborhoods often have inadequate resources, difficulty retaining high quality teachers, and less enrichment opportunities. These students experience higher levels of discipline and lower levels of emotional support.

These factors compound and over time result in higher school and college dropout rates, lack of access to managerial positions in the corporate world, and disproportionate incarceration rates.

We believe every member in a community impacts its health and vibrancy. At Yucca Palm, we dive deep into understanding the complex webs of community to transform school communities into spaces that center liberation. We empower and coach staff, families, and youth to lead this transformation.

Our approach is informed through decades of experience, data collection, and deep research on conflict resolution, youth development, and community building.
