Let’s Transform Culture in Schools

Partnering with school staff, families and youth to create liberatory schools.

In the United States, a student’s zipcode and race can define the quality of education they receive.

Yucca Palm Mutualism partners with school leaders, families, and students to co-create a school culture centered in liberation.

We've identified four elements of thriving schools.

Achievement
Orientation

The deep belief that everyone is valuable and that a commitment to continuous self-improvement supports the entire community to reach its goals.

Cultural
Awareness

The understanding that when we see our identity through multiple societal lenses, we see both ourselves and others fully. The acknowledging of oppressive systems and choosing to disrupt them.

Trauma
Consciousness

The curiosity to examine how past experiences impact our present communication and decision-making. Facilitation of brave spaces to support all with resources for healing.

Community
Connections

The dedication of time and space centered in sharing and listening to diverse perspectives. The strengthening of pathways within the community to build capacity of developing solutions internally.

It Takes The Entire Community

Yucca Palm services families, schools and youth through tailored workshop series and coaching to strengthen these elements.
